Kevin Hart has Stepped Down as Oscars Host

Kevin Hart withdraws from hosting the Oscars.

In a recent tweet posted on Thursday, Kevin said he did not want ‘to be a distraction’ during the Oscars. He then apologized to the LGBTQ community for the ‘insensitive words’ that he used, from his jokes, in the past.

Later, he added in his tweet stating he was, “sorry that I hurt people,” hoping he and the Academy would meet someday, again.

Earlier, on Wednesday, Kevin Hart was announced as the host of the 91st Academy Awards. However, but it was quickly followed by concerns regarding his now-deleted tweets containing some homophobic slurs.

Thereafter, on a Thursday afternoon, Kevin put out a non-apology via Instagram telling people to ‘stop looking for reasons to be negative.’

In a later Instagram post, however, he revealed he received a call from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, who had asked him to apologize for his tweets or they would find another host.

Although, he denied to give an apology at that moment, but now, all that has changed.
